Generational change at the Glenn Miller Orchestra: Wil Salden hands over musical direction to Uli Plettendorff

After more than 40 years at the helm of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and more than 5,200 concerts throughout Europe, Wil Salden is taking his well-deserved retirement. With his passion for the Glenn Miller sound, his intuition and his dedication, he has shaped the orchestra for decades. Uli Plettendorff, who has been part of the ensemble as a trombonist since its inception, is taking over the baton. He knows the music, the orchestra and the audience – and combines tradition with fresh enthusiasm. ‘It is a great honour to lead the Glenn Miller Orchestra into the future,’ says Plettendorff. ‘I want to maintain the quality and set new accents – in the spirit of the Glenn Miller style.’
Many thanks to Wil Salden for four decades of musical excellence!
